Overview
Chirp is a personal AI accountability service. This policy explains what information Chirp may collect, how it is used, and the choices available to users.
Information you provide
Chirp may collect account information such as your name, email address, timezone, account preferences, goals, habits, journal entries, messages, uploaded proof, and other information you choose to submit.
Connected services
Chirp only connects to third-party services after you start the connection and approve the permissions shown by that provider. Depending on the service and permissions selected, connected data may include calendar information, email information, tasks, health activity, or other data needed for the connected feature.
Chirp uses connected data to provide user-requested features such as displaying relevant information, creating authorized actions, producing summaries, supporting reminders, and helping users manage goals and schedules.
Google user data
When you connect a Google account, Chirp accesses only the Google data covered by the permissions you approve. Google user data is used to provide the connected Chirp features requested by the user.
Chirp does not sell Google user data. Chirp does not use Google user data for advertising. Chirp does not transfer Google user data to unrelated third parties except when required to provide the service, comply with law, protect users, or follow the user's explicit direction.
Chirp's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Location
Location is requested only when a feature requires it and the user grants permission. Chirp is not designed to continuously track a user's location in the background. Users may disable location permissions through their browser or device.
How information is used
- To operate and improve Chirp.
- To provide goals, habits, reminders, memories, and AI assistance.
- To provide features connected by the user.
- To protect accounts and prevent misuse.
- To communicate service and security information.
Sharing
Chirp does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with infrastructure or service providers only when needed to operate Chirp, with connected providers at the user's direction, or when legally required.
SMS and mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Chirp may use mobile information to provide account verification, requested conversations, reminders, alerts, service notices, enforce free-message limits, and provide other messaging features selected by the user. Unlinked phone conversations are separated from account data until the user verifies and connects that phone. Messaging and infrastructure providers may process this information only as needed to operate and deliver Chirp's services or when required by law.
Message frequency varies based on user activity, settings, reminders, and requested features. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of text messages or HELP for assistance. The public SMS enrollment and consent disclosures are available at /chirpai/sms.
Discord messaging
When a user messages the Chirp Discord bot, Chirp may process the Discord user ID, display name, message content, server or direct-message context, and delivery identifiers needed to provide replies, enforce guest limits, prevent abuse, and connect Discord to a verified Chirp account at the user's request. Chirp does not require access to unrelated server messages.
Unlinked Discord conversations remain separate guest data until the user verifies and connects Discord from Chirp Settings. Discord also processes information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Data retention and deletion
Information may be retained while an account is active and as needed to provide the service. Users may disconnect integrations and request deletion of account data. Some limited information may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
Security
Chirp uses reasonable technical and organizational protections. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
Users can review account settings, disconnect integrations, change browser permissions, remove saved information where supported, and request deletion of their account.
Age requirements
Chirp is not intended for children under 13. Additional age or parental-consent requirements may apply depending on location and the features used.
Changes
This policy may be updated as Chirp changes. Material updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
